AWARD WINNING – FAMILY RUN – MICRO BREWERY

Established in 2016 in Elsdon, the heart of Northumberland. The First & Last is an award winning, family-run, microbrewery. We brew small batch cask-conditioned and bottled beer. Our beers are inspired by the wild, untamed landscape and starry skies of Northumberland.

“We like our beers to link to Northumberland, either in name or ingredients, preferably both. Whenever possible we like to make beers not just in, but with Northumberland”

QUALITY

Finest quality malts, water and hops are critical to creating excellent beer. Equally important to us is the quality of the relationship we have with you.

CREATIVITY

Brewing is part science part art. We enjoy being creative. We hope you enjoy the results.

SUSTAINABILITY

Northumberland inspires us. We’re always looking for ways to reduce our impact on this wild landscape and the wider environment.

Community is really important to us….it’s a […]

So that was 2018….

So that was 2018…what a year! A year ago we were gypsy brewing – using other people’s breweries as and when we could. This year we’ve spent a lot of time filling in forms, looking behind sofas for money, applying for various licences, digging trenches for water & electricity mains. In April 2018 we finally […]

Mad Jack Ha’

Mad Jack Ha’ (or Mad Jack Hall) is our session IPA, a little moreish 3.8%er with Mosaic hops. We made a Christmas delivery to this lovely lady, Hazel last week. Was amazed to find out that she’s a descendant of Mad Jack himself!   MJH was born a couple of miles from the brewery at […]
