#5 - Learn To Fly / Hazy Pale

#5 - Learn To Fly / Hazy Pale

Learn To Fly is the 5th release in our 10B410Y project celebrating 10 years of brewing. This is a hoppy, hazy pale ale packed full of antipodean (Australian & New Zealand) hops. Galaxy, Nectaron and Nelson Sauvin hops have been used to give ripe tropical fruit, passion fruit and gooseberry flavours & aromas plus plenty of oats for a silky mouthfeel. We've also stripped the gluten out of this beer to make it suitable for anyone following a GF diet.

We love a collaboration. We especially love brewing with longstanding friends! This beer is a collaboration with Allendale Brewery who have supported us since the very beginning offering advice, inspiration & a brewery to cuckoo brew in! Ric & Jenny both previously worked for Allendale Brewery; Neil (Head Brewer at Allendale) showing Ric the ropes in brewing 15 years or so ago. Now Allendale Brewery take care of all of our canning, so the relationship continues to flourish!

It was fun spending the time to design and brew a beer together, but also to reflect on the journey we've taken so far. It's Allendale's 20th anniversary this year - a huge milestone for them and it's no surprise that during that time the brewing industry landscape has changed significantly. One thing is clear in conversation with folks from other breweries within our region and across the country - sharing the struggles, supporting one another and tackling some of the trickier times shoulder to shoulder works to everyone's benefit and enhances all of our skills, enthusiasm and resilience.

This opportunity to reflect on how we've been helped, and how we have a purpose to help others has been another worthwhile pit-stop on our 10 Beers for 10 Years adventure.

You can buy F&L beers (including this one) as part of our Build Your Own Beer Box (make up your own box of 6 or 12). Or just shop for this beer here.
